R. Kenton Nelson - Narrative Idealism

Nelson's thematic approach to painting varies from the relationships between men and women, loneliness, isolation, to the invisibility of the middle-aged man in modern society. In his personal recordings of able men and women, quietly conducting their personal business, it is Nelson's intention to demonstrate how beautiful painting can be. He appreciates how "private and simple our commonplace deeds are and recording and sharing these seems intimate. The cropping of the figures in my paintings allows more input from the viewer with the intention of representing Everyman."
