Julie Rofman Ten paintings by Julie Rofman explore the artist's envisioned spaces where non-specific artificial materials converge and collect. Structural elements in these imagined landscapes are recognized as man-made due to their shapes, colors, and textures, mainly consisting of what appears to be slick metals and brightly colored sun-bleached plastics. The viewpoints change in each painting, from overhead views to more traditional landscapes. Each painting investigates partially abstract environments of manufactured ruins taking on new life in an imagined world. |
