Ray Turner

RAY TURNER is attracted to moments of transition, to the rapid changes in diffuse light at dawn and dusk, or the intense but fleeting colors of autumn. This attention to change, the recognition of rescuing as instant form the continuous march of time that unites Turner's diverse bodies of work. Turner has also started a body of portraits. The paintings hold a likeness of his models but he plays with the paints fluctuating suggestions of makeup, skin condition, light and shade.
