ART SERVICES COLLECTION MANAGEMENT ABOUT US

ART ADVISORY SERVICES

An art advisor is a full-time, recognized professional engaged to help the new or established collector in every aspect of the formation and maintenance of an art collection.

First and foremost, the team of advisors will lend their professional assistance to help others make intelligent decisions about art acquisitions. Combining first-hand knowledge and over 50 years of combined experience in the art market, the advisors will offer individuals their expertise by way of intricate art research, well established connections with the art market in the U.S. and abroad, and personal connoisseurship.

For the New Collector •••
Professional expertise tailored to meet the individual’s specific needs and interests. Assessing their personal objectives and tastes to determine a personalized strategy for their art selections. The criteria for the selections of artworks is based upon the client’s aesthetic preferences, the determined budget, and the space available to accommodate the works of art.

For the Established Collector •••
Many people collect entirely on their own, seeking advice from dealers in their respective field of interest, and many enjoy success and great pleasure approaching collecting this way. A key benefit of choosing to work with the independent art advisor is the promise of the advisor’s objectivity in the advice and counsel which they offer to the client. A desired image or object should be approached with caution and deliberate consideration, particularly if the potential investment is substantial. Collectors of this stature can benefit from our market intelligence as an informed and trusted source.

Many serious art collectors are over-committed with their time and /or may desire client confidentiality; preferring to do business anonymously through our art advisory firm. Through our extensive networking and continuous travel to exhibitions and art world venues, our art advisory services would locate artworks on behalf of these clients in response to their specific requests.

In addition, specific artworks would be recommended to clients based on a prior knowledge of their collection or interests. Sources of artworks would include artist studios, galleries, museum exhibitions, private collections and auction houses. We may be engaged to physically inspect art works at auction or through private sales, as well as to bid for clients at auction.

For the Corporate Environment •••
Expansion and growth - it doesn't matter what part of the country you survey, new corporate art collections are being formed, existing collections are being added to, and new buildings are under construction. Corporate art collecting has become an established element in the art world. One of the most important trends that has emerged in recent years is the way in which a corporation's artwork has become an important part of the company's overall image. We understand the role of art in the workplace. We offer high standards and ethics, and years of professional experience placing artwork in some of the nation's leading corporate collections.

Resale of Artwork •••
When clients wish to resell works of art we will consult with them on market analysis and the best strategy to do so. We can act as the agent or administrator for the sale. Consultation may be for individual works or for an entire collection.

COLLECTION MANAGEMENT

The serious collector is often too busy themselves to be overly concerned with the management of the collection and would prefer to simply enjoy the art. The maintenance of art is critical, but time consuming.

• Conduct market research necessary to obtain current, up to date valuation for each work

• Set up and monitor competitive Art Insurance

• Administer correct Storage, Installation, and Atmospheric Security

• Arrange for shipping, framing, photography, loan agreements, lighting and security of artworks.

• Develop strategies for managing Trust and Estates with significant holdings in art. Clients can enlist our art firm in making decisions about bequests, the method of timing of dispersals or obtaining probate appraisals.

Some Tips for Caring For Your Art:

Whether your collection consists of a single oil painting inherited from your family or several valuable works collected through the years, you need to know how to protect and preserve that art for your own, and others’ enjoyment. Daily household activities contribute to what art experts call a “hostile environment.” And while you can’t duplicate a museum atmosphere in your home, you can take some steps that will help.

• Try to provide a stable climate. A room temperature of 70 degrees with a humidity of 50% is ideal.

• Place highly valued artworks where they won’t be exposed to strong morning or afternoon sun; pull the shades when necessary. Special acrylic that filters out ultra violet rays is now available.

• The best way to illuminate your art is with a spot - or floodlight, mounted at least three or four feet from the art. A boxed reflecter light, mounted over an artwork may concentrate too much heat on the art.
